The DanDoh Trunk Show has been extended through Monday! The AMGEN Women’s Race is currently traveling around our lake and through our mountains, closing some roads during the next few days. So we’ve decided to extend the trunk show, and to update our store hours. Check the website for the latest information, but be sure to come in by Monday to catch all of these beautiful samples and yarns!
There are only a few days left of the DanDoh trunk show! Stop by the shop by this Friday to see a large selection of knit samples and gorgeous Cotton Tape and Cotton Fine colors!
Between May 7th and 15th, The Knitting Nest will be hosting a DanDoh trunk show, featuring many yarns and patterns from this exciting company.
Perfect for hot summer days, these lightweight projects shine in beautiful cotton, silk and linen. Many of the patterns look much more complicated than they really are, so don’t be afraid to explore some new styles of knitting or crochet!
Find more information here, or just stop by and explore! Hope to see you there!
Did you know that Zen Yarn Garden dyes a collection of yarn exclusively for The Knitting Nest? These gorgeous colors are inspired by the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe, and are a dream to work with!
One of our customers recently created this lovely shawl from a Stephen West pattern on Ravelry, called Clockwork. It’s a striped, garter-knit shawl with a unique arched shape. It looks stunning in Zen Serenity Silk (in Tahoe Oak and Tahoe Splatter)!
These gorgeous kits by Artyarns give you everything you need to make a stunningly unique shawl.
First up is the Drama Queen kit, which features some of Artyarns’ most luxurious hand-dyed yarns: 1 skein of Merino Cloud and 1 skein of Silk Mohair Glitter for a touch of sparkle. They come with 3 downloadable patterns (a Chevron Shawl, a Triangle Shawl and a Chain Link Shawl).
Next is the Taj Shawl Kit. It includes 2 skeins of Ensemble Light, a Silk/Cashmere blend in hand-dyed coordinating colors, as well as 3 downloadable patterns (a Triangle Shawl, a Rectangle Shawl and a Tunic).
Artyarns’ patterns are very well-written, with expert guidance and lots of photos to help you along the way. So don’t be shy–this is a perfect time to step-up your knitting and create something unforgettable!
If you saw our last post about Wonderland Yarns, you know we’re very excited to be featuring this new-to-us company! In fact, we had so many exciting patterns and photos to share with you, we couldn’t fit them all in one post. So here are a few more patterns and colors we love:
The Which Way Shawl
We also recently discovered another great pattern on Ravelry for these yarns: the Flashdance Shawl! It’s very beginner-friendly and would look great with any of these kits.
If you’re searching for a new project for spring, there couldn’t be a better time to come in and explore! Happy knitting!
Mark your calendar: we have an exciting trunk show coming to The Knitting Nest between May 7th and 15th!
Here’s the story: Each year, we attend a yarn show in January, to discover all the latest designs and fibers. As you might imagine, we are surround by absolutely gorgeous knit and crochet items–in the company booths, on displays and on the shop owners and designers who are attending the show. This year, one woman’s knit cover-up was so gorgeous we stopped her to compliment it. And we’re so glad we did, because we discovered that it was her own design, and that she is the owner of DanDoh, a truly unique and modern yarn company!
DanDoh projects are perfect summer knitting, featuring yarns in cotton, linen and silk. We think you’ll love all of the patterns, and we’ll be featuring many knit and crochet samples (as well as a large array of color choices) during the trunk show.
Hope to see you there!
