Companies We Love: Knitter’s Pride

Here at The Knitting Nest, we pride ourselves on partnering with companies who make a difference in the world. Some of the ways that the creators of our beloved yarn, needles, bags and more are helping others are so inspiring, we thought we would share a little of that information and highlight the ways that they’re helping.

One of our favorite brands, Knitter’s Pride, just published a blog post describing the many ways that they’re taking action to make the world a better place. From charitable work, to education for children, to job opportunities for women, this is a company that is truly making a difference. Find out all about it here.

We love supporting inspirational companies. It matters to us, and we know it matters to you. Isn’t it amazing that we can support the creation of so much good, while doing something that’s fun, relaxing and creates unique works of beauty?

Happy knitting!

P.S. Our shop hours are currently shortened while Lauren cares for baby Sofia, so please remember to check the website or call ahead for our most up-to-date schedule. Thank you!

Caps for Kids–Knitting for Charity

The holiday season is a wonderful time to share our love of knitting with those who could use a little extra warmth in their lives. Two organizations in particular, Live Violence Free and the Tahoe Resource Center, are currently supporting Caps for Kids, an effort to give warm knit hats to the kids who need them.

Want to use your knitting needles (or croquet hooks) to help? Create a cap using any yarn, in any style, and donate it by December 10th to the South Lake Tahoe Public Library. Any size hat is welcome; there is a special need for hats for older kids.

Need help finding a pattern or selecting a yarn? Stop by and let us help!

Happy knitting!
